DevOps Engineer

Overview
Our client is seeking a DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and operate the infrastructure, tooling, and deployment pipelines that support scalable, secure, and highly available software systems. This role partners closely with Software Engineering, Platform, and Security teams to improve system reliability, developer productivity, and operational excellence across cloud-native environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure to support scalable, highly available production systems.
- Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, reliable, and repeatable software delivery.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve deployment processes, observability, and operational readiness.
- Implement infrastructure-as-code practices to ensure consistency, versioning, and automation across environments.
- Monitor system health, performance, and reliability; respond to incidents and drive root cause analysis and remediation.
- Establish and maintain logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions to improve system visibility and uptime.
- Partner with Security teams to implement best practices around access control, secrets management, and compliance.
- Optimize cloud costs, performance, and scalability through proactive analysis and tooling improvements.
- Contribute to on-call rotations and continuously improve incident response processes and documentation.
Operating Context & Impact
- Operates in a cloud-first, CI/CD-driven engineering organization with frequent production releases.
- Supports multiple product and platform teams, enabling them to ship software safely and efficiently.
- Success is measured by system uptime, deployment frequency, mean time to recovery (MTTR), infrastructure stability, and developer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4+ years of professional experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering roles.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Strong experience with CI/CD tools and automated deployment pipelines.
- Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Solid understanding of Linux systems, networking concepts, and cloud security fundamentals.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to collaborate across engineering disciplines.
