Lead DevOps Engineer

Team Lead DevOps

We are looking for a hands on Team Lead who will build and shape a new engineering function focused on automation, platform reliability, and modern DevOps practices.

This role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical depth with the ability to guide people, influence stakeholders, and drive meaningful change.

• Build and grow a new engineering team from the ground up
• Deliver the first core automations within 12 months
• Define a clear automation & platform strategy for the future
• Modernise operations with automation first thinking

You will play a key role in establishing engineering excellence, improving platform stability, and setting the long-term direction for automation across the organisation.

• Lead and mentor a small team (scaling to 4 people)
• Drive automation initiatives across the platform and operations landscape
• Implement and enhance Terraform, IaC, and automation tooling
• Partner with stakeholders to introduce new ways of working
• Contribute hands on to DevOps, platform engineering, and operational improvements
• Support change management and promote an automation-driven culture
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define standards and best practices

What You Bring

• Strong DevOps background with experience in automation and platform engineering
• Solid understanding of Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, and automation tooling
• Experience in Linux, onprem environment
• Proven history of driving automation across complex systems
• Experience in project leadership; people management experience is a strong plus
• Ability to convince and influence stakeholders
• Hands on mindset; someone who enjoys building and improving systems
• Operationally grounded but innovation-oriented
