Description

VP of Engineering — Infrastructure

We’re building one of the most ambitious AI automation platforms in financial markets — quietly, deliberately, and with the backing of world-class investors, technologists, and operators. Our proprietary AI and patented systems are redefining how data moves through the financial ecosystem, creating a new institutional standard for private market infrastructure.

As we prepare for large-scale institutional onboarding and the launch of our fully regulated trading environment, we are expanding our leadership team with a VP of Engineering for Infrastructure — a technical powerhouse who can architect, scale, and operationalize mission-critical systems in an environment where performance, reliability, and security are non-negotiable.

This is a rare opportunity to own the backbone of a next-generation financial exchange and lead the team that keeps the entire platform running flawlessly as we scale globally.

About the Role

We’re looking for a senior engineering leader with deep infrastructure expertise — someone who thrives in high-stakes environments, moves decisively, and knows how to build for both today’s demands and tomorrow’s scale.

You will oversee our DevOps and infrastructure organization, guide architectural decisions across cloud, compute, networking, observability, and security, and partner closely with product, engineering, and executive leadership to deliver a trading platform that operates with institutional-grade reliability.

You will be responsible for establishing best-in-class engineering standards, maturing our automation and reliability practices, and ensuring our infrastructure meets the rigorous expectations of regulators, global financial institutions, and real-time AI systems.

This role is for the engineering leader who wants to build the kind of company people study later — one that changed how financial markets work.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Architecture & Leadership

  • Own the design, evolution, and scalability of our cloud infrastructure powering APIs, web applications, ETL workflows, and AI-driven systems.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow the DevOps and infrastructure team, setting a high bar for technical excellence and operational rigor.
  • Drive long-term architectural strategy and establish standards for reliability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with engineering leadership to seamlessly integrate infrastructure decisions into product roadmaps.

Automation, Tooling, & Observability

  • Oversee automation strategy across deployment, testing, monitoring, and operations.
  • Ensure we maintain a world-class CI/CD pipeline leveraging tools such as Terraform, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, and next-generation AI-assisted tooling.
  • Implement and refine observability systems (New Relic, DataDog, Grafana, OpenTelemetry) to support a proactive, insight-driven operational environment.

Security, Compliance & Governance

  • Architect and maintain infrastructure that meets SOC 2, ISO 27001, and other regulatory standards required for institutional finance.
  • Partner with Security, IT, and Compliance to drive consistent, secure configurations across environments.
  • Ensure infrastructure is audit-ready, regulator-ready, and enterprise-ready at all times.

Reliability Engineering & Incident Response

  • Own reliability across all production systems — uptime, load management, failover, and disaster recovery.
  • Lead and refine on-call processes, ensuring rapid response and continuous improvement after incidents.
  • Build systems that perform flawlessly under pressure, even as traffic, data volume, and AI workloads scale rapidly.

Qualifications

Required

  • 10–15+ years of experience in infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering — with at least 5 years in engineering leadership.
  • Deep expertise designing and operating cloud-native, microservice-based systems in AWS.
  • Strong background with Kubernetes (EKS), Terraform, Docker, networking fundamentals, and modern observability stacks.
  • Demonstrated experience running production systems with strict uptime and regulatory requirements.
  • A track record of building, mentoring, and scaling high-performing engineering teams.
  • Exceptional judgment in high-pressure, high-ambiguity environments.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting AI/ML pipelines and GPU-accelerated workloads.
  • Understanding of data infrastructure, ETL, or tools such as Databricks.
  • Prior experience in regulated industries (FinTech, banking, exchanges) or environments with institutional-grade controls.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, Windsurf, GitHub Copilot) and modern developer productivity platforms.

Who You Are

You are a builder, a strategist, and a steady hand. You love the responsibility of owning infrastructure that cannot fail. You thrive in complex environments where the right decisions matter. You’re energized by the idea of scaling a new financial architecture that blends AI, real-time data, and institutional capital markets.

You want to lead a team doing work that will define the future of the industry.
