About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Quality Assurance Engineer II to champion the quality and reliability of our core Banking products. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring that our banking offerings—including high-interest checking, emergency savings, check deposit, and paycheck deposit—are accurate, transparent, and instill confidence in our users. Embedded within the Banking Engineering team and reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, you will collaborate across teams to develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies that uphold our commitment to excellence. Your expertise will help identify potential risks, enhance automation coverage, and accelerate our AI-driven testing initiatives. Qualifications
  • 4–6+ years of software testing experience, with a proven track record in delivering high-quality products
  • 2+ years of dedicated experience in the Banking or Fintech domain
  • Proficiency in backend/API testing, utilizing TypeScript and GraphQL
  • Experience with Mobile testing, including Kotlin/Espresso and Swift/XCUI
  • Strong background in automated testing across unit, integration, and end-to-end test types
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD platforms such as Harness, Spinnaker, GitHub Actions, or Buildkite
  • Familiarity with Scrum-based Agile development methodologies
  • Excellent collaboration skills with engineering and product teams
  • Strong drive for delivering impactful, customer-centric products
  • Exceptional attention to detail and precision in testing and delivery
  • Ability to identify risks proactively and propose effective solutions
  • Optional: ISTQB or similar certification, web testing with Cypress, experience with Docker/containerization, blockchain, or related technologies
Responsibilities
  • Own and maintain the quality strategy by managing existing test cases and ensuring automation stability and availability
  • Drive automation initiatives to increase strategic test coverage to 50% across all testing types within six months, leveraging AI and generative technologies
  • Explore, prototype, and implement AI/ML-driven testing tools to enhance testing efficiency, quality, and speed
  • Document and evangelize AI/ML-driven testing best practices across QA and engineering teams
  • Identify potential risks, analyze software quality, and propose solutions to mitigate issues and reduce escape rates
  • Design and execute comprehensive test plans for major components or features within the Banking domain, including complex test scenarios
  • Contribute to the full adoption of Acorns’ Continuous Delivery (CD) strategy by integrating testing into CI/CD pipelines
  • Partner closely with Product Marketing and Data Analytics/Engineering teams to ensure thorough testing and data integrity
  • Mentor junior QA team members and share knowledge on banking domain testing and automation best practices
  • Collaborate on developing and validating emerging banking technologies to solve complex technical challenges
